Story of Hadeel Al-Sobehy Craft Store

Hadeel Al-Sobehy, the founder of "Hadeel Sobehy for Handicrafts", is a Jordanian woman from the city of Salt. She started her journey in the world of handicrafts with a deep passion for the craft that reflects Jordanian identity. Although her academic background was in accounting, her love for handicrafts drove her to add her personal touch to her country’s culture and heritage.

Inspiration and Development

"Design was a passion to revive traditional crafts that express the ancient Jordanian identity, which was on the brink of disappearing." This is how Hadeel’s story begins. She started learning the craft of weaving and making small decorative items like baskets and dolls through a simple trial and error approach, later developing her skills through self-teaching and focusing on her target audience.

Materials and Creativity

Hadeel uses various materials like plant fibers, straw, wood, mirrors, and repurposed fabrics to create artistic dolls and decorative tables. What sets her apart from other artisans is the quality of her products. Through her foundation, she also works to train and employ women in these crafts, giving them the opportunity to learn and contribute to the community.

Ambition and Future Vision

Hadeel’s ambition is to spread the ancient Jordanian heritage into everyone’s hands, keeping it alive, while continuing to train young people and women in this art.
