The Story of Al-Laban Abdullah Store

Fatima Abu Omarah, born in 1971 in Jerash, is the founder of “Al-Lubban Abdullah”, a project specializing in producing jameed, traditional ghee, and other dairy products. Her journey began more than twenty years ago in a rural environment where cattle raising was part of daily life. She started by helping her family with hand milking and preparing dairy products for household use. As Fatima recalls: "I began my journey in this field more than twenty years ago, driven by personal and environmental factors, as I grew up in a rural setting heavily reliant on cattle breeding and dairy production."

Family Support and Inspiration

Her mother was her first inspiration and supporter, instilling in her patience and precision. Over time, Fatima enhanced her skills through specialized training workshops and community programs that empower rural women, combining inherited knowledge with modern methods in food production and marketing.

Products with Authentic Flavor

Today, she produces laban baladi, white cheese, traditional ghee, butter, and jameed, along with seasonal items such as pressed labneh and salted cheese. She uses fresh milk, natural starters, and pure salt, while adhering to traditional preparation methods to preserve authentic taste and ensure quality.

Impact and Ambitions

This craft has transformed her life, providing a stable income, connecting her with her community, and giving her pride in preserving cultural heritage. Her ambition is to expand her project into a sustainable local food model and establish a training center to empower rural women in dairy production.

What distinguishes Fatima is her deep commitment to authenticity and quality, blending traditional practices with modern packaging and marketing techniques. Her products are not just food—they are cultural symbols of Jordan’s heritage.

These products were supported through Khairat Al-Dar project.
